Rabbi Schneider - Pentecost, 1,500 Years in the Making

Rabbi Schneider - Pentecost, 1,500 Years in the Making
TOPICS: Rabbi Schneider: Devotions, Shavuot, Pentecost

Welcome and greetings in the name of Messiah, Yeshua. I'm excited because we're in the midst of the season that we call in Hebrew, Shavuot. Of course the Christian church refers to the same day as Pentecost. It's really the same day. But interestingly, this year Shavuot falls on a different day on the Jewish calendar than Pentecost, or Shavuot falls on the traditional Christian calendar. Pentecost, many of you know, is the Greek word meaning 50. Shavuot is the Hebrew word meaning "weeks", because according to the Torah it takes place seven weeks and a day after Passover. But it's the same holy day.

When the disciples were together in Acts Chapter two and the Spirit of the Lord fell. It was on Shavuot, and they were remembering how God gave them the Ten Commandments on that day 1500 years earlier. Think about this many times when people think about Pentecost, they think of, Oh, that has to do with, you know, the church. And they think about even a Pentecostal church. But in reality, those disciples in Acts chapter two, they had been celebrating Pentecost, which they would have referred to as Shavuot for 1500 years already.

So it's a very Jewish thing. I'm excited today. In a little bit, we're gathering together as a team here in my studio. We're having just a time of prayer and intercession for Israel's salvation. And I want to ask you today for your financial support. I know that's kind of strange and it seems always just a fundraiser. Well, it's true. But the thing is, is that it takes money, beloved, to do what we're doing. And one of our primary burning objectives is to reach Jewish people and to challenge Israel with the Gospel of King Yeshua.

So if you feel the Holy Spirit nudging at your heart right now to make a financial gift in the light of the fact that we are in Shavuot, Pentecost, one of the three times of year, according to Deuteronomy 16:16, where God commanded Israel to come to him in Jerusalem and present an offering. If you're just feeling the Holy Spirit just touching you right now, encouraging you to make a love gift, a sacrifice of love to Him during this special Holy season, beloved, through Discovering the Jewish Jesus. I just would encourage you be obedient.

Remember it costs money to reach people with the Gospel. Everything that we do costs money and we're all commanded to spread the Gospel around the world. This is a great opportunity, my friends, to be part of the harvest. I love you. God bless you. And thank you for your financial support. And we say in Hebrew, Chag Sameach happy holiday to you all. Thank you.
