Kenneth Copeland - Speak Your Confession of Faith With Boldness
Well, hello again. This is Kenneth Copeland, the Believer’s Voice of Victory broadcast. Every believer has a voice, and it should be the Voice of Victory, to where I have the victory. I have it. His name is Jesus. His victory is in His Word, and I have it and endeavor to walk in it all the time. Now, let me ask you a question. Am I going too fast? I get to gunning and I think maybe sometime I’ll push it too fast. Father, we thank You again today for the marvel and the mystery of Your Word. It’s wonderful in our hearts and in our mouths, in our eyes and in our ears, and we thank You for it today. In the name of Jesus, amen. All right. In Him, in Christ, in the beloved, in whom the confession of faith.
Let’s look in the book of Ephesians, please, in chapter three, Ephesians three. Oh, there’s just so many things that are so powerful here that I want to get into. Let’s begin reading with the ninth verse. We’ll read down into it. To make all men see what is the fellowship. Now, what is our part? That’s what fellowship. Make all men see what our part of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world has been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ. Now, there’s a scripture, that’s a by scripture. He meets our needs according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. So that’s an anointing scripture, by that anointing. Where is that anointing? He’s living on the inside of us. The kingdom is in here.
And if the Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead dwells in us, he’ll make alive our mortal body. If we lay hold of it by faith and then believe we receive it. To the intent now under the principalities and powers and heavenly pleasures might be made known by the church, the manifold wisdom of God. Praise God. Thank You, Jesus. According to the purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus, our Lord, in whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him. Wherefore I desire that you faint not at my tribulations. Verse 15 or 14, For this cause I bow my knees under the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named. But we have boldness. Why? Because we’re in the family.
Well, boldness is not a brash, pushy thing. No, no. Boldness gives no one the right to rail against the devil. You don’t rail against him. You resist him steadfastly in the faith. But you don’t just start screaming at him and you know, just really, no, no. He just sit back and say, well, thank you for giving me access. You lost your temper and I think I’ll just ride with you a while. Like somebody said, you let him in the backseat, he’s going to want to drive. He’ll take all the territory he can get. First Peter five, and casting the whole of your care upon him. He like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour. Resist him steadfastly in the faith. Amen. All right. So in him we have boldness, right?
All right. Hebrews 4.16. That whole fourth chapter of Hebrews is just, just magnificent. Verse 14, Seeing then that we have a great high priest that is passed into the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let’s hold fast our profession or our confession. Same word. For we have not a high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities, but was in all points tempted like as we are yet without sin. All points tempted like as we are yet without sin. Let us therefore… tempted. He was without sin. So let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in a time of need. So now I know I have boldness. It’s not a momentary thing. It’s not just there just when we need it. It’s in here all the time, but it has to be activated by faith. So you come boldly to the throne of grace. Why? Because in him, grace and mercy belongs to us.
So I come boldly to get it. Let us, that’s what I wrote. Let us therefore come and get it by faith. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in a time of need. Oh, this was a number of years ago. I don’t remember now what all the situation was, but whatever it was, just seemed to me as just a lot of pressure. I had just fallen on my knees and I just said, «Lord, I come boldly to the throne. I must, I must have it, but I do have it because of You, I own it and I come boldly and I take it and I have it». And it worked, but you can walk in that peace.
Now I want to go back and at the time of this, well, I go back to the month of May, 2024 and you’ve heard me testify to it before. I was on the way to the treadmill. I just fell on the floor with just the most excruciating pain at that time I had ever experienced. Just knocked me in the floor. Well, they called an ambulance and took me to the hospital. My appendix had ruptured. Class, I had never had an extended hospital stay.
Now I was in the hospital in Fort Gordon, Georgia. I was in the dispensary. It wasn’t anything serious and they had a flu epidemic breakout and there was a soldier that died while I was there and then all of us, we were all physically able to just pitch in and go to work. Well, in doing so, I got the flu for a couple of weeks. Now that kind of thing, and I had just a little minor surgery a few days before that. The hospital, what, two days I think didn’t amount to anything. Two weeks. I’ll tell you, I thought am I never going to get out of this place? Five days and went home and couldn’t keep anything on my stomach. Back to the hospital, five more days. That was it for me. All these years, I’ve never experienced anything like that. Now, let me flash back to 2004 Southwest Believers' Convention. I did the Big Band Live album.
So it took a lot of rehearsal, which meant I didn’t have the leeway to… I had to rehearse enough to record the whole album live with the Joshua Experience, a big band. Lot of rehearsal, lot of rehearsal, all different. There were some other things that happened that just… I just took the TV makeup off and went to bed. Normally I shower at night. Got up the next morning, Sunday morning, just letting that hot water run on me. Well, you walk in my shower, the shower head’s this way. The towel rack is here. So I took the washcloth and I threw it at the bench and it didn’t. It went in the corner. I did this and ruptured a disc in my back. It knocked me to the floor. I couldn’t walk. I crawled out of that shower stall. The stress, the things that I went through in last year, that sciatic nerve pain is back. Nowhere near like it was when it knocked me in the floor. But it’s there enough to just grind on me.
So I am having to practice what I preach. But my continual, constant confession of faith, constant confession of faith. When I prayed about it, in fact it was an application of stem cells before the pain went away. I checked it out with the Lord to see what to do. My instructions were a continual flow of stem cells. I didn’t do that before. I didn’t know to do that before. But now, that doesn’t exempt me from these scriptures. It seems like it takes a long time, but the stem cells didn’t work overnight either. Before it took four months for the results to be there.
Well, I’m not going to just go four months, get that, and stop my confession of my faith. No. You got to get right back in it again. The confession of faith has to be an ongoing thing, day in and day out, where you just praise God. So I’m having to increase that in my own life. And it’s working. I know it’s working because the book says so. Amen. So we have boldness in him. Now, we’re here in this place. There’s something I want you to see in this, class. I didn’t see it right off. It’s a play on words. It’s been there all the time, but I didn’t see it. We’re here in this fourth chapter, the 11th verse. Let us labor, therefore, to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief. For the Word of God is quick and powerful, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and the marrow, and is a discerner of the thought and the intent of the heart. Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight.
Do you see that? It said, the Word of God, he. I’ll tell you that’s powerful. The Word of God, he. This book is alive. The Word of God, he. Hallelujah. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of God. Verse 14, Seeing then that we have a great high priest passed into the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. Now then, how much time do I have, Tim? Do I have time to introduce this? Huh? Oh yeah, good. I want to look at that in the book of Hebrews, and that is in the fourth chapter. Anyway, start there with verse 12. For the Word of God speaks, is alive and full of power, making it active, operative, energizing and effective. It is sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating to the dividing line of the breath of life, the soul and the immortal spirit, and of the joints and the marrow of the deepest parts of our nature, exposing and sifting and analyzing and judging every thought and purpose of the heart.
So now, I want verse 14. In so much then, as we have a great High Priest who has already ascended and passed through into the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession of faith in him. The King James says profession, but it’s the same word. And you’ll see that often enough, but each time it is the word confession. And it says the confession of faith in him. So, you have to say it. That’s the bottom line. You believe it in your heart and say it with your mouth. But you build it into a continual, constant saying and praise and worship. Praise God, because this is alive. This is alive. The day that hit me, the Word of God, he, I said, «Ah, it is so much greater than what I gave it credit for». Hallelujah.
Now, thank You, Jesus. I want to read on down into this fifth… Let’s start. I want to go, yeah, verse 10. Called of God a High Priest after the order of Melchizedek, of whom we have many things to say, hard to be uttered, seeing you’re dull of hearing. For when the time you ought to be teachers, you have need that one teach you again, which be the first principles of the oracles of God and become such as have need of milk and not strong meat. For everyone that uses milk is unskillful in the Word of righteousness, for he’s a baby. He said, you ought to be there now, but you’re not. And so all of these things we’re reading are what it takes to be there. In fact, if you really put the definition of the purpose of the book of Hebrews, that’s it.
The bottom line is grow up. You should already be there, but you’re still having to be fed milk. Everyone that uses milk, verse 12 again, For when for the time you ought to be teachers, you have need that one teach you again, which be the first principles of the oracles of God and are become such as have need of milk and not of strong meat. Everyone that uses milk is unskillful in the Word of righteousness for he is a baby. Strong meat belongs to them that are of full age. Even those who by reason of use, what is use? Practice. Using it. Amen. Living in it. Even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.
That’s the bottom line of the book of Hebrews. To have your senses exercised where your senses are saying, no, I’m not going there. One of the toughest things for me… now, I’ve known people that wasn’t that tough, but one of the toughest thing for me was to lay tobacco down. I started fooling with it when I was just a little boy. And I’m telling you, that thing got on me and I just despised it. I’d throw them out and then out of the car and then get out in the weeds and hunt them, you know? Felt like a fool. I was a fool. That’s the reason I felt like it. But the Word separated me from it. I drove into a meeting and I knew I had been delivered from it. I accepted a situation that was not in the will of God.
And when I did, I got around a bunch of men in the life insurance business. This man asked me to come help him because I’d worked with my dad. And that thing got back on me again. Well, I went to a meeting and I went back to work with my dad. Finances had all messed up, I won’t be going in all that. But anyway, so I called Gloria. I said, I was in Tyler, Texas. I said, «Charles Rogers and Hilton Sutton are having a meeting there at Faith Mobile Church in Houston. I don’t have the money to come get you, but what I’m doing is so far out of the will of God. I have to get into that meeting». She said, «I understand it. Have you called your dad»? I said, «No, I’m going to call him right now».
I did. So I drove up. I started to say, I taxied up. No, I didn’t fly. I drove up and I looked, there was a package of cigarettes. So I went in. Two weeks later, this meeting went on for six weeks. Two weeks later, a man said, hand me some money. He said, «Copeland, go get your family». So I got in the car and I said, «Well, look at you».
That was it. Got in there with the people of God and the Word of God, totally completely delivered, just gone. So the change of environment got it back on me. I went back and changed the environment and walked away from it. So the environment surrounding a Christian that is in this category here, and when I got in that meeting, I got some good milk, but that’s all I could handle. I didn’t know things, but I began to grow right then. Hallelujah. So now I want to go down here in the sixth chapter, in the 17th verse. We’re in God willing more abundantly to show under the heirs of promise. Is that us or not? We’re still in whom, in Christ and we’re out of time. Tim, where do you get that sign, man? We’ll be back in just a moment.
